Interpersonal Process and Attachment Repair Groups – no groups currently running
These long-term interpersonal process groups are designed to help you explore yourself in attachment relationships, experiment with new ways of engaging, practice nervous system regulation, and integrate this experiential learning into your everyday life. Process groups can be a powerful tool for interpersonal growth and learning and, at best, provide a deep sense of closeness and belonging.
The commitment of the process group member includes a willingness to work on examining their emotional reactions, tolerating discomfort or conflict when it arises, giving and receiving feedback to other members and to the leader, receiving emotional support, communicating feelings and needs, and exploring what’s in the way of doing these things more fully. By doing so, many members find they are able to develop more mutually-satisfying, intimate, and lasting relationships in their outside-of-group lives.
The groups consist of 5-8 members and are led by Jeannie Songer, LPC. The groups are ongoing and meet each week. New group members make at least a three-month commitment. Currently, some of our group members have been together for 1-5 years or more, and we are seeking members who are open to this kind of long-term work. New members may be accepted into the group if and when openings occur.
This group is also a good fit for those interested in mindfulness, experiential, and body-centered approaches to therapeutic work.
